Documentary about the disappearance'of the Dutch Californian artist Bas-Jan Ader. For his last performance Ader tried to cross the Pacific in an extremely small boat. Ader disappeared in the mist and neither his body nor his boat were ever found.
This documentary is not a standard biography, but gives an highly original account of Aders life and disappearance. Furthermore it stresses Aders importance for contemporary arts. Doing so it features works by and interviews with influential (video) atists like Tacita Dean, Rodney Graham, Marcel Broodthaers, Ger van Elk, Charles Ray, Wim T. Schippers, Chris Burden, Fiona Tan, Pipilotti Rist.
