A brand new film from the Brothers Quay that had its television premiere on TVP Kultura yesterday (broadcast in 16:9 - a relatively new development for Kultura, and just in time). The film explores the museum of Jan Potocki, author of The Saragossa Manuscript (filmed by Wojciech Has, for whom the Quays also have a great affinity). Similar in tone to their earlier The Phantom Museum, the film is a mixture of live action and animation, observing the visitors to the museum during the day, and exploring the inner life of the museum during its nocturnal reverberations.
