We’ve all been following Ridley Scott’s progress with the Alien prequel pretty closely for quite a long time now. It’s been through ups and downs, but ever since Scott took the reins for his second visit to the franchise he began, we’ve seen big steps in getting this movie made.
Now that the movie has a few bucks to throw around, the next big step is casting and there’s plenty of people interested. According to the lovable horror freaks over at Bloody Disgusting Anne Hathaway and James Franco have been added to the list of potentials, alongside the original girl with the dragon tattoo Noomi Rapace, Natalie Portman, and Carey Mulligan, who were both potentials to be the new girl with the dragon tattoo.
So far we don’t know too much about the story other than that it’s going to focus on the “space jockey”, who you may or may not remember from the first film way back in 1979. He is found on the alien ship as if he had become part of it, and Ridley has said we’ll learn about his travels before capture, and after. It should be interesting.
This movie has been given the fast track so no doubt we’ll be getting casting confirmations and plot details very soon. Stay tuned.
