Hot on the heels of Tuesday’s trailer premiere, this new international poster for the upcoming murder-comedy Burke and Hare is 100% less impressive. The trailer was great despite the attempts of the editors to dumb it down, but a poster has less to operate on, and this just feels unfinished.
Maybe it’s what the studio was going for, but I can’t imagine what possessed them to start with a white background, then slap seemingly random bits from the movie on top of it. It just doesn’t work for me. The image of Pegg and Serkis is great as they genuinely seem to love what they’re doing, and the fact that they don’t look like they’ve been airbrushed to hell is another plus, but in general this poster seems like someone missed their deadline and just had to turn in what they had even though the project wasn’t done.
