survivor philippines: kaye and marlon in showbiz central, kiko and nikki in all star k

it was survivor cast off galore again in gma 7 last sunday.

the two latest cast offs, marlon carmen and kaye alipio first guested in gma 7's showbiz talkshow, showbiz central. kaye confirmed that she had already talked with kiko regarding the incidence where they decided to vote against him. they are okay now. marlon, on the other hand, answered the issue on his detractors. he said that he is not bothered by them, because if they don't like him, he also does not like them. kaye was also asked on what she thinks of marlon, she quickly answered that marlon is really the opposite of what we saw on tv. she also revealed that among the cast aways, marlon is the only one that she trusts and he is the only one that knows her secrets.

in primetime, castoffs nikki and kiko joined in all star k! the one million peso videoke challenge. for their bonifacio day episode, they featured contestants who are tagged as palaban which includes inspector corpus of the lie detector test in showbiz central, dj mo twister, carlene aguilar, gay activist dan and starstruck alumni rhea nakpil. kiko lasted until the fourth round and nikki was the last one eliminated. carlene aguilar went on to win the episode. other castoffs that has joined the show was chev, gigit, nina and patani.

survivor philippines: marlon guests in kapuso mo jessica soho

the so-called "bad boy of primetime television" marlon carmen guested in gma 7's saturday magazine show, kapuso mo, jessica soho and reveals somethings about himself. the show showed his family and his high school, which seems to be a normal person as compared to what we have seen in survivor philippines in which he really played the villain.

jessica soho even accompanied him in a mall where people had mixed rections when they saw him. some approached him with a smile, and some even took photos with him. some said that he was great in the show. but there was this one lady that oipenly shouted that he hated marlon.

on the second part of the segment, marlon revealed somethings about himself that we still don't know. he was a cancer survivor. he also got a collection of deadly weapons, majority of which are swords. that is why he was comfortable during the spear throwing challenge. some of his relatives even call him mcguyver, after a popular tv show in the 80's and early 90's that was great in making gadgets.

he also now owns a shawarma business with his brother. the stalls has pictures of marlon on its tarpaulins. during the airing of the show, some would even go there and punch his pictures. but as his brothers says, bad publicity is still publicity and told us that the business is really doing great.

vern answered 2 of my questions while marlon answered none. the live chat was quite short compared to the last live chat where kiko and jace participated and they answered more questions. paolo did not type his answers during the live chat.

survivor philippines: why marlon lost

marlon carmen is definitely one of the best players this season in survivor philippines. he has gained the trust of two alliances while in jarakay tribe and played both alliances. he escaped 3 elimination weeks after the merge and even convinced cris and kaye to vote against the naak alliance. he definitely came prepared and was focused on winning. but he was voted out on the show's tenth tribal council and became the fourth jury member.

so why did marlon lose the game?

first, he was definitely viewed as a strategic threat. as i have said, he has made the most strategic moves in this game. he played two alliances, dictated the voting out order in jarakay, convinced kaye and cris to vote on their side and blindside kiko and did really everything to stay in the game. his mind works really hard and he really played a mind game.

second, despite his strategy, jarakay really was in a disadvantage in numbers. having the numbers advantage in the merge would give you a clear advantage. jarakay entered the merge down by 2 people, 6 to 4. first voted out was jace, then after two weeks was vern. since none of the 2 remaining jarakay members won immunity, it was logical that one of them was going home.

third, he failed to break the naak alliance. despite winning over cris and kaye in the 8th tribal council and voted out kiko, he never really won the trust of the 2. after jc shared the reward with them in the next reward challenge, the 2 went back to the original naak alliance. he tried to win zita but her loyalty was definitely on the naak side. his credibility also worsened when he told cris that zita was angry with jc and she wants him out.

fourth, he was viewed as the antagonist in the island. the way he played the game was really off in some aspects and may be unacceptable to many. he surely gained enemies while in the island and even had fans hate him after watching the show. but however he plays the game, he surely lasted long despite being hated.

with all of this into consideration, i think the main reason why he lost was that even with his superb strategic skills, he failed to break the naak alliance which lead to his downfall. i admire his never say die attitude and for giving it his all until the end. i think he is the only survivor that was voted out that can say that he did everything in his powers to stay in the game.

survivor philippines: marlon carmen becomes 4th member of the jury

after 30 days on the island, marlon carmen became the fourth jury member of the first season of survivor philippines during the 10th tribal council in the island. the chalam tribe voted unanimously against marlon, with a vote of 6 - 1 - 1. marlon got all 6 votes from the other cast aways, cris got marlon's vote and charisse have 1 point from the curse of the black pearl which vern gave her from the previous tribal council.

marlon was voted out despite his threat that he have hidden the flint and killed all fire at camp. he also had a fight with cris at camp just before the tribal council due to the way marlon is cooking the so-called jarakay soup.

marlon has been the popular antagonist of the show. many fans have hated him because of the way he played the game and his attitude towards other cast aways. but despite all of these, he is undoubtedly the most strategic player. he played 2 alliances while in the jarakay tribe. he escaped several weeks of elimination and even convinced kaye and cris to break the naak alliance and vote out kiko. but he still fell short of winning the game.

a new twist was also introduced last night. instead of a black pearl, a white pearl was given to marlon. who ever has the white pearl would have a -1 vote on the next tribal council or one vote against that person will be nullified. but if that cast away loses the pearl, it would have no effect. marlon gave the black pearl to the only remaining jarakay member, charisse.

survivor philippines: episode 32 - scheming and beer drinking

some observations on episode 32 of survivor philippines:

> marlon is making a move to impress naak and make them not vote for him. this is a good move for him. being in a new environment. you must first observe and adjust to the dynamics of the new group. but he is maintaining his alliance with the former jarakay members, which he also needs to stay in the game.

> marlon is not the only one slowing down. charisse was not shown strategizing at all. hmmm... good thinking... but she needs to go back to playing the game since they have the disadvantage in numbers and marlon can drop her any time.

> jace is definitely stepping up his game. he is the one planning for jarakay. he ultimately believes that jc is on his side. he trusts him too much. since naak is seeing him planning and scheming for jarakay, he puts himself very vulnerable to the vote. he is not only a physical threat but also a game threat.

> naak seems to be sticking together... all of them are telling each other what jarakay is telling them. but this game has only 1 winner, 6 persons cannot win the game. hope some of them realizes this. until when will they stick together?

> jc is pissed off that jace thinks that jarakay can get him. he must be flattered that jace is trusting him too much. he is also telling naak what jace has told him. hmmm... jc is blindsiding jace, he is now playing the game to his advantage. but he must remember that the ones he is dealing with right now are the same persons that would determine the sole survivor. his betrayal may lose his 4 votes, if all jarakay members will be voted off.

> jace's proposed vote order: kiko, rob, cris, zita, kaye... this would not happen for sure.

> marlon got drunk, he just screwed up all the things that he did the whole day to impress naak. back to square one.

> cris shown the emotional side of him. crying over the bonfire with beer in his hand. he misses his family. hmmm... zita is not the only one trying to win the sympathy votes.

> kaye is making some realization that jarakay needs someone to jump ship to their side... is she thinking of abandoning naak?
