amazing race asia season 4 racers revealed on september 2

the racers of the fourth season of amazing race asia in axn will air on september 2, 2010 at 9pm. who will be the new 10 teams that will race for the 100,000 dollar grand prize? according to the news, this season will feature the show's first father and daughter team and will feature martial artists, tattooist, musicians and social workers.

according to wikipedia, the following are the teams:

american idol, survivor and the amazing race: new seasons to premiere early 2009

american idol, survivor and the amazing race will kickoff reality tv premieres in 2009. both show will start their latest season on early months of 2009.

the 8th season of american idol will air on philippine cable television via star world. the new season will premiere on january 14, 2009. another notable change this season is the addition of a new judge, kara dioguardi. 38 year old dioguardi is an american singer, song writer and record producer. she has 46 albums in billboard's op 10 album chart under her belt. she has also worked with several idols before, taking kelly clarkson, carrie underwood and david archuleta to name a few. it was also announced that due to the on going economic crisis, the show will not air its charity work idol gives back. i am still trying to get some information if qtv 11 will still air american idol since they were the once who aired the show last year.

one month after american idol, amazing race and survivor will premiere its respective new seasons. amazing race will premiere on philippine cable television via axn on february 16, 2009. studio 23 will telecast the show in philippine free tv. this is already the reality show's 14th season.

on the other hand, survivor will premiere in philippine free television via qtv 11 starting february 13, 2009. the new season is titled survivor tocantins - the brazilian highlands. another notable change this season is that this is the first time that hopefuls below 21 year old were allowed to apply. so expect someone younger than frosty from survivor china will be on the show. this is survivor's 18th season.

amazing race asia season 3: sam & vince are declared the winner

sam and vince of hong kong became the official winners of the third season of the amazing race asia. the best friends from hong kong bested 9 other teams for the title after 11 grueling legs to win one hindred thousand us dollars. finishing second was the dating couple from the philippines, geoff rodriguez and tisha silang. third place is malaysia's ida & tania.

the last leg was a race from oman to thailand. in oman, the teams were pretty much even out due to the hard driving conditions and all of the teams had a hard time driving on sand. on the fligh from oman to thailand, ida & tania failed to secure the same flight as that of the 2 other teams, sealing their fate in the competition. in thailand, it was a toss up between geoff & tisha and sam & vince. but geoff & tisha got lost because their taxi driver did not know where the ice factory was located. sam & vince never looked back and eventually checked in first on the mat in the last pit stop of the race, rang yai beach in phuket thailand.

amazing race asia season 3: ad and fuzzie eliminated, final 3 racers revealed

the singaporean friends ad and fuzzie became the 7th team to be eliminated in what is dubbed as "the toughest race ever", the amazing race asia season 3. the singaporean duo came in last after the 10th leg, which covers india and oman. their elimination came after a non-elimination leg in leg 9 in which they also came in last. they had a 30 minute penalty since they did not come in first. they also did not finish the roadblock since fuzzie gave up halfway through the challenge. they also incurred a four hour penalty for this.

with their elimination, the season's final three teams that would battle it out for the grand prize was revealed. the three teams were ida & tania of malaysia, geoff & tisha of the philippines and sam & vince of hong kong. the finale will be aired next week on axn.

amazing race asia season 3: ad & fuzzie escapes elimination

the singapore team of ad & fuzzie escaped elimination in the ninth leg of the third season of amazing race asia. after finishing the leg last, they arrived at the pitstop and was informed that the leag was a predetermined non-elimination leg and as a consequence, they need to check in first in the next leg or they will incur a 30 minute penalty.

geoff & tisha, who was first in the last leg almost checked in last. they got lucky because sam & vince and ida & tania did not use the u-turn, which would make them finish the other detour. ida & tania actually liked to use the u-turn but they forgot to bring their picture with them. geoff and tisha then used the u turn since they know that they are battling third place with ad & fuzzie.

the final rankings for this leg is as follows:

1st - sam & vince (hongkong)

2nd - ida & tania (malaysia)

3rd - geoff & tisha (philippines)

4th - ad & fuzzie (singapore)

will this eventually lead to ad & fuzzie's elimination? or will they come back and take one of the top three spots in the finale?

amazing race asia season 3: henry & bernie is eliminated

after 8 legs of intense racing, the malaysian brother and sister team of henry and bernie was eliminated from the race of the amazing race asia season 3. the elimination leg came after 2 pre-determined non-elimination legs where ida & tania, also of malaysia, escaped being eliminated both times.

here is the summary of tasks in this eighth leg of the race:

order of departure: geoff & tisha (phi), sam & vince (hk), ad & fuzzie (sing), henry & bernie (mal) and ida & tania (mal); about a 4 hour difference between the first and last team

> at pit stop: teams were instructed to go to the ruins of st. paul, a unesco world heritage site to retrieve next clue

> at st paul's ruins: teams were instructed to proceed to the entrance of macau tower, where they did the climbing task roadblock in the previous leg

> at macau tower: roadblock: one of the team members will bungee jump 233 meters off macau tower, the highest bungee jump in the whole world according to the guiness book of world records. team members who did the roadblock: (in order) tisha, sam, ad, bernie and tania

> after the roadblock: teams need to catch a ferry to go back to hongkong and proceed to maskargo warehouse to search for a parcel addressed to them, open it and read the letters inside before they receive their next clue. for the first team that finished the roadblock, caltex provided a helicopter ride to hongkong which gives them a headstart, which was won by geoff & tisha

> at maskargo warehouse: after reading letters from home (where almost everyone cried), teams were instructed to proceed to a temple in cochin, india for their next clue. flight taken by teams: first flight: geoff & tisha (hk - singapore - cochin); second flight: ad & fuzzie and ida & tania (hk - bombay - cochin); third flight: henry & bernie and sam & vince (hk - singapore - bombay - cochin) - note that these 2 teams missed their connecting flight to cochin so they have to go to the domestic airport to catch a new flight

> at the temple: teams need to be blessed in the temple before receiving their next clue. hours of operation: 6am to 10pm - geoff & tisha arrived at the temple at 10:30pm, so they stayed in the hotel for the night. ida & tania and ad & fuzie arrived at the temple at 4:30am, and stayed there until opening; getting in front of geoff & tisha

> after getting blessed: teams will proceed to kumbalam and wash an elephant

> at kumbalam: teams encountered a detour: in fish, teams need to deliver 6 large swordfishes to a restaurant. in fill, teams need to finish an intricate column design on the floor using colored rice. how the teams choose tasks: fish was done by geoff & tisha and sam & vince, fill was done by ida & tania, ad & fuzzie and henry & bernie; the faster task proved to be fish

> after the detour: teams will proceed to the next pitstop, the bolgatty palace at cochin

order of arrival at pitstop:

1st: geoff & tisha (philippines)

2nd: ad & fuzzie (singapore)

3rd: ida & tania (malaysia)

4th: sam & vince (hongkong)

5th: henry & bernie (malaysia) - eliminated

for winning the race, geoff & tisha won a trip to hongkong and USD1,000. actually, ida & tania arrived 2nd at the pitstop but they have a 30 minute penalty since they did not arrive first at the pitstop, the consequence of the non-elimination leg. ad & fuzzie caught up with them and checked in 2nd.

amazing race asia 3: geoff & tisha checks in first in leg 7

after 7 legs, team philippines finally placed first in the third season of the amazing race asia. team philippines is composed of dating couple geoff rodriguez and tisha silang.

the 7th leg of the race started in hongkong where they were instructed to deliver 2 fish each to a pet store. but due to hours of operations of the store (which starts at 11am), almost all the teams caught up with sam & vince. they were next instructed to go to macau via ferry. sam & vince, having the hometown advantage, walked to the pier and caught up with the earliest ferry. the next 3 teams were supposed to board the same ferry but geoff & tisha were able to convince someone to trade them their tickets. so geoff & tisha boarded ferry ahead of the others.

upon arriving at macau, they were instructed to board a pedicab and go to the fountain in senado square. upon arriving there, they were instructed to go to the macau tower, with a yield ahead. at macau tower, they encounter the yield and a roadblock. sam & vince decided not to use it. geoff & tisha, who arrived 2nd at the tower, decided to yield henry & bernie.

at the roadblock, one of the team members needs to climb the tower where they would receive the next clue. the ones that did the roadblock were vince, geoff, fuzzie, bernie and ida. when henry 7 bernie arrived at the tower, they completely ignored geoff & tisha who yielded them. they were next instructed to go to the dragon boat pier at sai van lake. they need to row a dragon boat along the course, turn on a buoy and return to the pier where they will receive the next clue.

they then encountered a detour, which is a choice between dance or chance. in dance, teams must perform a traditional dragon dance perfectly. in chance, team would play black jack and win against the dealer nine times before they received the next clue. only geoff and tisha choose dance and it proved to be beneficial since they finished ahead of sam & vince.

they were then instructed to proceed to a-ma cultural village to retrieve their next clue. it was also the pit stop of the race but before they could proceed, they need to arrange 12 lanterns with the symbols of the chinese zodiac in its chronological order with the help of several clues. if they think they got the order, they would step on a red mat and if they got it, the doors of the village would open.

geoff & tisha had a hard time and sam & vince caught up. but they eventually got it and checked in at the pit stop first. by winning the leg, they won a 40 inch bravia tv and a play station 3 game console each. the final rankings are as follows:

1st - geoff & tisha (philippines)

2nd - sam & vince (hong kong)

3rd - ad & fuzzie (singapore)

4th - henry & bernie (malaysia)

5th - ida & tania (malaysia)

ida & tania was in last place again and was once again saved. this was a pre-determined non-elimination leg. their money was not surrendered to allan but they need to check in first in the next leg or they will get a 30 minute penalty.

amazing race asia season 3: niroo and kapil of india is eliminated!

the father and son tandem from india, niroo and kapil was eliminated in last night's leg of the third season of amazing race asia. being away from their own country for the first time, they became the third team to be eliminated in the show.

the episode started hue vietnam. teams leave one by one and were instructed to go to taipei, taiwan. the first team, henry & bernie started at 2:04 am and had a 56 minute lead over the last team, niroo and kapil. once at the saigon airport, the airport was still closed so most of the teams decided to sleep there except for ida and tania, who checked in to a nearby hotel.

the teams then boarded on the same flight to taiwan, another equalizer in the game. once in taiwan, they boarded to marked vehicles to their next clue. they then encountered the detour. the detour is a choice between shoot it and shape it. in shoot it, they need to find a thing hidden amongst the hundreds of miniature art in the miniature museum and they a picture of it. their clue will be on the back of the picture when they print it. in shape it, teams need to solve a tangram puzzle, forming four shapes to get their next clue.

most of the teams choose shoot it and it proved to be real hard. mai & oliver, sam & vince and geoff & tisha agreed to work together to find the clue. but when mai & oliver got it, they left the place with out telling the other teams. this really disappointed sam & vince. after sometime, sam also found the clue and reacted loudly which prompted the other teams. all of them eventually looked and also found the clue.

ad & fuzzie talked to a local and told them that the museum is already closed (but it was really open) so they decided to go to shape it. the task proved to be an easy one, and they finished quickly, even ahead of the others. on the other hand, niroo & kapil had a car malfunction and even threatened to quit the race. but they eventually continued racing.

the next clue instructed them to go the institute for the blind where they need to decode a braille message. one of the teammates would be blindfolded and feel the braille message to the other team mate who will decode the message. most of the teams had an easy time decoding the message. surprisingly, it was henry & bernie that had a hard time. they had good communication so far in the race and its surprising for them to see thsi to be difficult.

the message they need to decode was "go to shenkeng". in their clue, sam & vince were instructed to donate 20000USD to the institute from standard charter bank. so much charity so far in the race. they were then instructed to go to shengkeng to retrieve their next clue. the taiwan roads proved to be hard to maneuver since most of the teams got lost. in shengkeng, they encounter a roadblock.

the roadblock task was to consume a whole bowl of the local delicacy called the "stinky tofu". most of the teams had a hard time finishing the bowl, especially ida, oliver and tisha who threw up a couple of times. on the other hand, vince, bernie and ad was shown to have ana easier time in the challenge. niroo & kapil did not even try the dish and opted for the time penalty.

after the roadblock, they were instructed to go to the pit stop, the taipei city hall square. ida & tania of malaysia eventually finished first. final team rankings are as follows:

1. ida & tania - malaysia
2. sam & vince - hongkong
3. mai & oliver - thailand
4. henty & bernie - malaysia
5. ad & fuzzie
6. geoff & tisha - philippines
7. niroo & kapil - india.

niroo & kapil was eliminated.

its surprising that all the legs so far are elimination legs. i see a non elimination leg coming in the next few episodes. its also important to note that mai & oliver broke the pact to work together with the other teams in the detour. they dont like to help geoff but their integrity is now in question. its also good to note that ida & tania is running a solid race so far, can they be next all female team to win the race?
