An enchanting fantasy tale, this Russian film from 1963 is a family movie that has captured the imagination of viewers for decades. The story follows Olya, a young girl who meets her own reflection through a magic mirror. The plot twists and turns as Olya and her reflection go on an incredible journey through the world of good and bad mirrors, eventually reaching a problematic destination as Olya and her reflection are forced to question their own identities.

A disobedient young girl ventures into a reflective land of distorted truth after striking up a friendship with her own reflection in a youthful tale of fantasy that shows just when children can learn when they peer through the looking glass. Olya doesn't listen to her grandmother, but when a magical old mirror shows her a young girl named Yalo, the pair venture into a dishonest world populated by unusual mirrors that make its inhabitants appear better than they really are.
