survivor philippines: why rob lost

rob sy won the last and the most important immunity challenge of the game. he gained the advantage of choosing who he will be up to in the final 2. he chose jc, his long time ally to join him in the final 2. despite having the advantage, rob still lost with a wide margin of 7 - 2, 7 votes going to jc's favor. even the text votes was against him.

so why did rob lose?

first, rob lost the trust of his allies. kiko hated his attitude when he was thinking more of the prize and not taking it one step at a time. most of them noticed how he threw tantrums every time something bad happens at tribal council. marlon also told them how he sealed a deal with him regarding the prize money. he never recovered from the distrust that was accorded to him.

second, there is still an impression that he is not strong despite his body built. being called "ampaw" by the former jarakay tribe, he was not a big factor in challenges and even gave up early on most individual challenges. the jury members might see this as a sign of giving up and not giving your best in challenges. he has not earned the respect of the jury in terms of his physical capabilities.

third, he won the last immunity challenge but chose to stick with his ally in the final 2. i think he could have a better chance of winning if he chose charisse over jc. jc is a difficult man to beat and most of the jury members like jc better than him. jc won more challenges and has proven himself in challenges. charisse has been riding the currents since the merge and has been a non-factor in challenges. charisse betrayed several persons and has not comp[letely gained the trust of the naak members. charisse could have been beaten by rob, but jc would be a difficult person to be with in the final 2.

fourth, rob's exposure in the show was more negative rather than positive. he was shown having tantrums after kiko gave him the black pearl. he was shown swearing at kiko after charisse was voted off. he had several fights with other cast offs. he took advantage of vern at the thai pillow challenge. he gave up at most challenges faster than the female castaways. is this the character that the sole survivor should have? i think this is the reason why rob lost badly in the text votes (93% vs 7%). it could have been an extra vote for him if he was projected positively on tv.

if i were to chose the main reason why he lost, it would definitely be the wrong choice of person to bring to the final 2. yes, rob build relationships in the show and he did his best, but jc is definitely not in his league. he definitely cannot beat a person so likeable and trustworthy as jc. rob simply cannot beat jc in a head to head match, and his decision simply lost him 3 million pesos and the title of being the first sole survivor.

survivor philippines: how i think the jury will vote

based on the past 62 episodes of survivor philippines, here is my thoughts on how each of the jury member will vote on who will be the first pinoy sole survivor:

jace, first jury member

on jc: jace's first alliance was with jc. but when the tribes were mixed, jc went to naak and jace was in jarakay. after the merge, jace expected that jc was on his side. but jc was solid with his naak alliance and voted against jace in the tribal council.
on rob: jarakay tribe generally does not like rob and even calls him "ampaw". in his proposed pecking order after the merge, rob was 2nd in his list after kiko. i think rob and jace was really not that close in the island

probable vote of jace: jc, because of their friendship

kiko, second jury member

on jc: kiko considers jc as one of the very trustworthy persons in the show. they had an alliance in the island and was really very close to him
on rob: kiko and rob also had an alliance in the island together with jc. but before kiko was eliminated, kiko was already worried about rob's behavior since he was very complacent of the naak alliance and was laready looking at the money. he also gave the black pearl to rob after his elimination
probable vote of kiko: jc, because he trusts jc over rob.

veronica, third jury member

on jc: jc and vern are both athletes. i think vern trusts jc more than rob. and vern thinks that jc was a stronger competitor as compared to rob.
on rob: remember that rob took advantage of vern during the thai pillow challenge. i think she has not forgotten that incident

probable vote of vern: jc, because of the fact that rob took advantage during the thai pillow challenge.

marlon, fourth jury member

on jc: marlon thinks jc is a strong competitor and a wise person. i observed that he never tried to fight with jc during his stay in the island. i think he respects jc more compared to rob.
on rob: marlon does not like rob. it was clear that every time rob speaks at tribal council, he mocks him and laughs at evrything he says. sure signs that he will not vote hor him.

probable vote of marlon: jc, for sure...

kaye, fifth jury member

on jc: kaye and jc had a loveteam during the naak days. she respects jc as a player in the game but she plotted to vote him out at tribal council but jc won immunity and instead, she was the one voted out.
on rob: after vevh left the game, kaye was tarzan's jane. she is close with rob but is also annoyed by him. in the last tribal council, she was also mocking rob while he spoke.

probable vote of kaye: jc

zita, sixth jury member

on jc: zita trusts jc over rob, i think. jc won reward challenges and he have asked zita to come with him in the reward. but when zita was left at camp with the jarakay members, she said that jc is one of the stronger members and she would probably vote him off.
on rob: he trusts rob but not on the level that he trusts jc. it was also seen last night that she and kaye are mocking rob at tribal council.

probable vote of zita: jc because of her behavior at last night's tribal council

cris, seventh jury member

i think i don't need to explain who cris will vote. it was obvious in his last immunity challenge and his last tribal council that cris really does not like rob and how he played the game.
probable vote of cris: jc for obvious reasons

charisse, eight jury member

on jc: jc was the one who offered her the alliance that made her last long in the game. she respects the fact that jc is strong at challenges and was strategically better than rob.
on rob: he is close to both boys but i do think that her impression that rob is "ampaw" is still there, as with the other jarakay members.

probable charisse vote: jc, for offering her the alliance

my prediction is a landslide victory for jc, 8 - 0. but this might change. i think the sure votes for jc are jace, kiko, marlon, cris and kaye. a maximum of 3 votes can go to rob, which could come from charisse, zita and vern (since rumors are spreading that they are dating now). but i would still stand by my prediction that jc will win as the first pinoy sole survivor by a landslide victory.

well, 99% of the spoilers are not true, but the spoiler that jc will win might be the true one after all.

survivor philippines: why charisse lost

charisse was one of the underdogs in survivor philippines. based on her profile, having lived a comfortable life and not being an outdoor person, she was one of the early picks to go. but her focus and determination was really great and her social skills made wonders. she proved to be one force to reckon with.

so why did charisse lose?

first, she really has a disadvantage on the physical aspect. a petite girl like her is simply not a physical threat. she never won any of the physical challenges for individual immunity. winning immunity is one of the assurance to last long in the game and being strong physically plays a big factor in this game.

second, the jury likes her and her social skills are great. this might sound a bit conflicting since social skills will take you long in the game. but at this stage of the game, you will think who you can beat at the last tribal council. being an adorable person, charisse can easily get the votes of the jury, thus being a threat to win the title.

third, in her alliance with jc and rob, she was never assured of the final two. after kiko was voted off the island, jc and rob did not trust kaye and cris anymore. but they still voted with them to eliminate vern and marlon. after that, they offered an alliance to charisse. charisse gladly accepted the offer knowing that she is definitely the swing vote. but she took the offer despite never being assured of a spot in the final two. so in the end, jc and rob still stood by their pact and went on to become the final two.

i think the main reason why she was eliminated was the alliance of rob and jc, and they never assured her of a spot in the final two. i already expected that her only hope of getting to the final two was winning the immunity challenge. but she did a greaqt job. i think of all the blogs that i made on why each cast off lost, this one is the hardest to make. this is because i can think of more reasons on why she lasted long as compared on why she was voted off. i think she did play well and i was really hoping she can win this season. hope she will be back if an all star season will push through.

survivor philippines: charisse becomes last jury member, final two revealed

anna charisse yacapin becomes the last member of the jury after being eliminated in the 14th tribal council in survivor philippines. charisse was voted off by rob and chose jc to be with him in the final two. charisse and jc did not vote because their votes would cancel out since they would only vote for each other after rob won immunity.

charisse was really an underdog at the start of the competition. no one expected her to last till the final three. she is a fashionista and kikay. she used har charms and good social skills to compensate on her physical weakness. she was one of the brains that started the girls alliance in jarakay. after that, she played with marlon at the start of the merge and stayed close with the naak tribe. her efforts payed off when after kiko was voted out, jc and rob trusted her over kaye and cris. the alliance with jc was the one that made her last till the final three.

charisse accepted her elimination calmly and said that she was happy whatever happens and wishes the 2 guys good luck in her exit interview. she lasted 38 days in the island and was the last female standing. she was able to win an individual immunity challenge in day 26 and was the only one in the final seven castaway that did not get to enjoy any of the rewards.

with charisse gone, survivor philippine's final 2 was revealed. the final two are basketball hottie jc tiuseco and loverboy rob sy. the 2 guys will battle it out for 3 million pesos in the last tribal council.

survivor philippines: rob wins last individual immunity challenge

the last individual immunity challenge involves strength and endurance. in this challenge, the castaways needs to hang on a handle attached to an inclined platform with a water drum. water is released from the drum, making the platform slippery. the angle is increased every fifteen minutes. the last survivor holding the handle wins immunity and gets the chance to choose which one of the remaining 2 castaways he will bring to the final 2.

the challenge started quite even since the platform was almost horizontal. the scorching sun was also a challenge since they are facing the sun. this went on until the second level. on the third level, almost all of them are struggling because of the exhaustion and heat. the water is also causing them to slip.

charisse was really struggling at this point. she cannot hold on any longer and she gave up after 47 minutes. it was only between rob and jc at this point. rob found a comfortable position, sitting down near the handle and relied on arm strength to hold on. jc was really struggling and cannot hold on any longer after almost an hour in the challenge.

rob was declared the winner and now has a tough decision to make on who to vote out and who to take with him in the final two.

survivor philippines: why cris lost

cris cartagenas has been a survivor all his life. he has been separated with his wife and has been racing his child. he has worked as a company driver and also has been driving a taxi to provide for his family. he has been thinking that he had failed his father and he has kept this as an inspiration and motivation so he can keep his focus in survivor. but despite all of this, cris became the 15th person out of the show.

so why did cris lose?

first, he was a physical strength. he is strong and has proven himself that he can keep up with jc in all of the challenges. he has won a reward challenge (spear throwing challenge) and an individual immunity challenge (the balancing challenge). being a physical threat is a ticket to elimination in survivor. of course, if someone can beat you in a challenge, you would want him out the first time he can be eliminated.

second, he lost the trust of his alliance. having stabbed kiko rustia in the back previously, cris (together with kaye) has lost the trust of rob and jc. he made things worst when he voted for charisse in the 12th tribal council instead of kaye, who he said he was voting. jc and rob's trust never came back after that and they decided to let him go.

third, he made a strategic move too late in the game and did not followed it up with another. yes, he was able to eliminate kiko with the help of the ex-jarakays but he did not followed it up with another strategic play. he then went back to the naak alliance, voting out vern and marlon in the next 2 tribal council, not sensing that rob & jc are still watching his every move. he simply played the game too late.

fourth, he was not a strategic player at all. he went to the game without a game plan and failed to adapt to the complexities of the game. going against strategic players like charisse, rob and jc; he was really not on their league and he was simply outplayed by the three.

if i had to pick the main reason why he was voted off, maybe it would be lack of strategy and lost of trust. he played the game too late and he was not able to bring back the trust of his tribemates. he was not able to adapt to the complexity of the game but he really played it up until the end.

survivor philippines: rob wins individual reward challenge

in this week's reward challenge, the castaways would participate in an series of challenges. first, they need to cross a rope bridge using two planks. if the castaway falls, he would return to the starting point. after reaching the end, they would run to the second station where they would start a fire on a can. after successfully starting a fire big enough, the castaways would run to a water drum on the other end and get water and fill the other can on the other end of a lever. once enough water is on the can, the can with the fire would be lifted up. if the fire is large enough, the wich would ignite. first person to set off the gun powder at the end of the wick wins reward.

reward would be an overnight stay and massage treatment ina spa in krabi.

when the challenge started, jc put on an early lead, blazing through the rope bridge. rob and cris was pretty much even and not far behind and charisse was running last. jc got to the fire station first and had his fire going as rob & cris reached the station. he attempted to light up the wick but his fire was not enough. it was pretty much even at this point with all the survivors trying to get their fire going. rob tried lifting the fire, then cris but both failed to light the wick. jc tried again and was again unsuccessful. rob had an idea to put sticks on a vertical position, so when it burns, it would reach the wick. rob tried again and was able to light the wick.

paolo declared rob the winner. he also informed rob that he would be able to choose another castaway to share the reward with. without second thoughts, rob chose jc. charisse and cris was told to go back to camp while rob & jc was transported to krabi to enjoy their reward.

survivor philippines: why zita lost

zita is a strong woman, both inside and out. she raised her children by herself and has been working as a laundrywoman until now. she is physically strong and has proved herself in several challenges. she has superb work ethics has camp and has been cooking for the tribe since the start of the contest. she is a fighter, she is definitely is a survivor. but despite all of this, zita was still eliminated and became the 6th jury member of survivor philippines.

so why did zita lose?

first, zita is a physical threat to the other castaways. she is the strongest female left in the game and she has proven that she can challenge any of the boys in the challenges. she has won a reward challenge and an individual immunity challenge. she can always beat anyone in any challenge.

second, she trusted the naak alliance too much. she trusted jc and rob too much that she did not think that they can blindside her. she was definitely not expecting to be voted out that night, since the other naak members promised her that they will tell her that it was her time to go.

third, she is not a strategic player at all. unlike charisse, kaye or cris, zita never made a strategic move in the game. most of the time, she votes out the person that her naak tribemate says. she never argued about it. being left in the island after a reward challenge with the ex-jarakay members, she had the opportunity to swing over and make her move but she did not.

fourth, she is too likeable. being likeable is not a good thing towards the end of survivor. from having the numbers, strategy shift to who i can beat in the final tribal council. if you would bring zita to the final two, she would definitely beat you. she has the sympathy votes of the jury, being an old lady trying to raise her children by herself. she never had any grudge while in the island, except probably for marlon. the jury likes her and would definitely vote for her.

i think the main reason for her loss was lack of strategy and being too likeable. in the endgame, its not about loyalty or kindness anymore, its strategizing who i want to keep and who i can beat in the last challenges and in the final tribal council. but she played the game well and with integrity. for that, i really admire her and hope she would be included in the survivor philippines all stars, if the season will push through in the coming years.

survivor philippines: zita becomes sixth jury member

laundrywoman zita ortiga became the sixth jury member of the reality show survivor philippines. in an unexpected tribal council, zita was voted out of the chalam tribe with a 3 - 1 - 1 vote, 3 votes against zita, 1 vote against jc and 1 vote against rob. jc, rob and charisse voted for zita, cris voted for rob and zita voted for jc.

zita lasted 35 days in the island and has been tagged as one of the strongest contender for the sole survivor title among the castaways. she had previously won an individual reward challenge and won the first individual immunity challenge. she was a member of the naak alliance but was voted out by her allies. she works the hardest at camp and has proved herslf in several challenges.

zita was obviously disappointed of the result of the tribal council and was unaware that she was to be voted out next. in her exit interview, she was crying and she said that she was surprised that the others voted her out. she said that it was an agreement that if it was her turn to go, they would inform her beforehand. she also reminded them of karma, that if they will do go, they will receive something good and otherwise.

survivor philippines: zita wins individual reward challenge

after 33 days, the castaways sees someone from home in the fourth individual reward challenge of survivor philippines. this week's challenge is a pair challenge, and their partners are someone from home. for zita, it is his son-in-law leo. for cris, it is his mother aida. for rob and charisse, it is their dads bobot and chito respectively. and for jc, it is his girlfriend alu. all of them became emotional after seeing their loved ones.

in this challenges, the survivors will be tied on the waist by a garterized rope and they will be blindfolded. they need to get 15 flags of their assigned colors and give them to their loved one who are standing on an elevated platform. their loved ones will be their guide and they will give the castaways directions on where their flags are. the loved one will also hang the flag on a rope. first to collect and hang 15 flags wins the reward.

the reward for the challenge is an overnight stay and tour in bangkok, thailand.

it was a pretty even match up until the final several minutes. since the castaways were tied in the waist, they had difficulty reaching the flags that are far from the platform. towards the end, it was a close match between zita, jc and cris; leaving charisse and rob on the tail end. it was surprising that rob got the least number of flags. in the end, it was zita who got the 15 flags first and was declared the winner.

zita also has an option to choose another castaway that would accompany them to bangkok. zita chose cris, who wanted it badly. so the ones going to bangkok are zita & leo and cris & aida. she also needs to choose a castaway that would have his loved one stay overnight at camp and experience camp life. he chose jc, and alu would spend the night at chalam camp.

will zita's choice to get cris be advantageous to her? or will charisse grab the chance to strategize with jc and rob to last long in the game?

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

survivor philippines: why kaye lost

kaye is one of the typical survivor beauties that can use her charms to go far in the game. being a lingerie model, kaye possesses a great body and a beautiful face to match. she also had a strong alliance with the other former naak members that carried her until after the merge. but with all of these, she was still voted out in the 11th tribal council.

so why did kaye lose?

first, kaye has been a non-factor in the individual challenges. kaye is the only female castaway that did not win an individual challenge and the only castaway in the final 6 with no challenge win. immunity is definitely an assurance of lasting long in the game and she never got one.

second, she dependended much on her naak alliance. she was not playing the game to the fullest up[ until the time that they voted out kiko. she was following what the naak boys were saying to her without an assurance that they would stick with her until the end. i think she had her strategy played too late in the game. she still needed marlon's convincing power to make her realize that she is on a disadvantage in her alliance.

third, she did not fully commit to her strategy. she succeeded in voting out kiko in the 8th tribal council. during that time, zita and jc was definitely next in line if she stuck with the jarakay tribe. but in the next tribal council, she again joined naak's alliance and voted out vern. if they chose to vote out zita or jc in that tribal council, it would be a different scenario and they would move to the power position in the tribe.

fourth, her credibility was definitely an issue after voting out kiko, and it never went away in naak's mind. until just before her being voted out, jc and rob really don't trust her and in this game, you should always know who trusts you and who you can trust.

if i were to choose the main reason why she was voted out, it would definitely be her lack of commitment to her strategy and playing it late and her credibility issue. if she only voted out zita or jc in the 9th tribal council, she can definitely in power at this stage of the game. but she played the game well, she thinks a lot, but she played the game too late.

survivor philippines: kaye is the 5th member of the jury

kaye alipio, the lingerie model from laguna, became the 5th jury member when she was voted out in the 11th tribal council in the first season of survivor philippines. the 20-year old calamba city native was voted out after a 4 - 2 vote in the tribal council, with 4 votes going to kaye and 2 votes going to charisse but 1 vote for charisse was cancelled due to the white pearl given to her by marlon in the last tribal council.

after she was voted out, paolo made her choose between giving a white pearl or a black pearl to a tribemate. kaye chose the black pearl and gave it to cris. the black pearl would guarantee 1 vote for him in the next tribal council but if he loses the pearl, he will have 2 votes guaranteed. during the tribal council, paolo also asked cris to never wear women's clothing again at the tribal council since tribal council is a serious matter. after the tribal council, cris threw away the black pearl that would guarantee him 2 votes in the next tribal council.

in her exit interview, kaye said that she expected that she was really indanger in that tribal council. she had no hard feelings regarding the decision of the tribe and she loves each and everyone of them.

survivor philippines: jc wins 5th individual immunity challenge

this week's immunity challenge is a 4 stage challenge. in the first stage, the survivors will climb up a wall then swing into a cargo net. they eed to cross to the other end of the cargo net and get a flag and run to a mat. first four castaway to step on the mat with a flag advances to the next round.

on the second stage, survivor will swim to floating bamboos. they need to cross over each bundle of bamboos. on the last bamboo, they need to get a yellow flag and return to the shore using the same process, crossing over each bamboo bundle. first three castaway to step on the mat advances to the third round.

on the third round, castaway will dig 6 colored planks in a sandpit. first two castaway to dig all six planks and raise a flag advances to the last round, in the 4th stage, the castaway needs to match each plank to a step on the ladder. when all the planks are matched, he will climb the ladder and get the elephant on top of the ladder. first to get the lephant wins immunity.

it was a very physical challenge. on the first stage, jc got the early lead, followed by cris. charisse and kaye had a hard time climbing up the wall. jc finished the first round first, followed by cris, then zita. rob was the last one to qualify, eliminating charisse and kaye in this challenge.

the second round was a pretty much even round for all. all four reached the bamboos at almost the same time but they had difficulty detaching the flags in the last bamboo bundle. jc stepped on the mat first, followed closely by zita and cris qualified last. rob simply gave up when cris started swimming back to shore.

in the sandpit, all 3 remaining challengers had a hard time finding the planks. jc got a white plank first, then zita found a yellow one, leaving cris to find violet ones. to make things worse, cris got a big wound from the first round, making it so hard to dig. jc was the first one to complete all six planks and never looked back from that point on. he easily matched the planks and got the elephant, and win immunity.

it was jc's 2nd straight individual immunity challenge win. he will be safe from elimination in the next tribal council.

survivor philippines: rob wins fourth individual reward challenge

male cast aways continue to dominate the individual reward challenges. after 2 wins from jc and a win for cris, rob now barges into the winners' circle by claiming the victory in the foruth individual reward challenge on day 31 of survivor philippines.

this week's reward challenge is a mental challenge. survivors first listened to a story about the curse of the island of langkawi. after listening, they need to carry a torch to one of five stations. on each station, they need to answer a question and choose between the two choices given. after they answer, they get a package from the container that corresponds to the answer that they chose. if they answered it correctly, the package will contain a shell necklace. they have to wear it and proceed to the next station. if they answered incorrectly, they will get a different necklace that they have to wear, proceed to the center of the playing field and burn the necklace before proceeding to another station. first castaway to get all 5 necklaces and give them to paolo wins reward.

the reward for this challenge is 50 thousand pesos that the cast away's family in the philippines will receive after the show.

after the story was told, jc, cris and rob immediately got a necklace. the girls followed soon. it was pretty much even with almost all castaways getting incorrect answers every now and then. it was a neck to neck match with the 3 boys and zita having earned 4 necklaces each. zita first found her last station and then rob. zita answered correctly but did not realize that she already completed all necklaces. rob then got his last necklace and was the first one to give the necklaces to paolo, who declared rob as the winner.

as an additional reward, rob was made to choose between milk, coffee and sugar for the whole tribe or 2 blankets that he can only give to one cast away. rob chose milk, coffee and sugar to the delight of the other cast aways.

survivor philippines: why marlon lost

marlon carmen is definitely one of the best players this season in survivor philippines. he has gained the trust of two alliances while in jarakay tribe and played both alliances. he escaped 3 elimination weeks after the merge and even convinced cris and kaye to vote against the naak alliance. he definitely came prepared and was focused on winning. but he was voted out on the show's tenth tribal council and became the fourth jury member.

so why did marlon lose the game?

first, he was definitely viewed as a strategic threat. as i have said, he has made the most strategic moves in this game. he played two alliances, dictated the voting out order in jarakay, convinced kaye and cris to vote on their side and blindside kiko and did really everything to stay in the game. his mind works really hard and he really played a mind game.

second, despite his strategy, jarakay really was in a disadvantage in numbers. having the numbers advantage in the merge would give you a clear advantage. jarakay entered the merge down by 2 people, 6 to 4. first voted out was jace, then after two weeks was vern. since none of the 2 remaining jarakay members won immunity, it was logical that one of them was going home.

third, he failed to break the naak alliance. despite winning over cris and kaye in the 8th tribal council and voted out kiko, he never really won the trust of the 2. after jc shared the reward with them in the next reward challenge, the 2 went back to the original naak alliance. he tried to win zita but her loyalty was definitely on the naak side. his credibility also worsened when he told cris that zita was angry with jc and she wants him out.

fourth, he was viewed as the antagonist in the island. the way he played the game was really off in some aspects and may be unacceptable to many. he surely gained enemies while in the island and even had fans hate him after watching the show. but however he plays the game, he surely lasted long despite being hated.

with all of this into consideration, i think the main reason why he lost was that even with his superb strategic skills, he failed to break the naak alliance which lead to his downfall. i admire his never say die attitude and for giving it his all until the end. i think he is the only survivor that was voted out that can say that he did everything in his powers to stay in the game.

survivor philippines: cris wins individual reward challenge

male cast aways continue their dominance in the individual reward challenges. after 2 weeks of wins by jc tiuseco, it was cris who wins the third individual reward challenge in day 28 of survivor philippines. the reward challenge was a spear throwing challenge. the cast aways will each throw a spear into a big target in the sand. the survivor with the arrow nearest the bulls eye wins.

The reward was to choose which castaway eats which meal. seven meals were shown before the challenge. the meals were steak meal with bottomless mountain dew, teriyaki burger with fries and a glass of mountain dew, pizza and pasta plus a glass of mountain dew, dried fish and tomato plus a glass of pepsi, camote plus a glass of pepsi max, tamarind and a glass of 7up and a plate of salt and a glass of water.

cris won the spear throwing part, marlon was a close second place. when cris chose which person eats which meal, it was evident that chalam was still divided into naak and jarakay. cris chose the steak for himself. he gace zita the burger while kaye got pizza and pasta. jc was given the ddried fish and rob got the camote. as expected, the 2 ex-jarakay members got the least appetizing dishes. marlon got the tamarind and charisse got the salt.

survivor philippines: why veronica lost

veronica domingo has a heart of a champion. being a taekwondo champion for years, she has been very focused and discplined. she has the looks, she has the stamina and she is determined. she went to the island for nothing else but to become the first sole survivor in survivor philippines. but she was eliminated and became the third jury member.

so why did vern lose?

first, she was a physical threat. in all challenges, vern was simply dominating all of them. she definitely is the strongest female castaway out there. she has the focus and the determination to beat them all. and she proved it in the hai pillow challenge where she out hustled not only the girls but also the boys. she out endured all of them in the second individual immunity challenge, standing on the rung for more than 4 hours with out any sign of discomfort. she is really awesome in challenges.

second, she was a mental player and a threat. she thinks about things thoroughly without deciding on what to do next and who to vote. her quietness in the camp makes her so unpredictable. and you never want anyone to plan behind your back without knowing it.

third, jarakay definitely has the disadvantage in terms of numbers. from the merge, jarakay has only 4 members and naak has 6. jace was the first to go but they were able to get rid of kiko next. now that the remaining naak members were able to talk things over, marlon and charisse are definitely next to go.

fourth, she had no strong alliance left in the game. her original alliance was the muscle group in jarakay: jace, gigit, john, vern and marlon. but marlon is also on the girls alliance and he is more into this alliance. ith all the other allies of her gone, she then went to go with marlon and charisse since its the lkogical thing to do. bu she was not completely into it, saying that she is not trusting anybody in the game.

for me, the main reason for her loss is her being a big physical threat and jarakay having the numbers disadvantage. she shown great physical strength and mental toughness that has threathened all the other survivors. and its the best time to eliminate her, because if not, she can win all the next immunity challenges.

survivor philippines:veronica becomes the third jury member

after a shocking elimination of kiko last week, veronica domingo was eliminated in survivor philippines. her elimination came after a 5 - 4 vote in the tribal council. all the former naak tribe members voted for her while all the ex-jarakay members voted for rob plus the black pearl vote.

before the tribal council, the individual immunity challenge was shown. this week's immunity challenge involves finding 7 colored blocks in a big playing field, hidden among the trees and bushes. each cast away has their own assigned color. each block has thai characters on it, each representing a day of the week. after collecting all 7 tiles, they must arrange the blocks in order to win immunity. the arrangement was shown for 20 seconds before the game starts and a cheat table is provided 200 meters from the game station.

all of the cast aways had an easy time finding the first 5 blocks but had difficulty finding the 2 more blocks. all of the first 5 were hidden under the trees. they did not notice that there were blocks on top of the branches. it was vern who first completed all 7 tiles but was not able to arrange them in order. she decided to go to the cheat table. next to complete the 7 tiles was zita but was also not able to arrange the blocks properly. charisse then completed the blocks and arranged them in order to win immunity.

all the individual immunity challenges so far has been won by girls. zita won the first one, vern wn last week and charisse won it this week. kaye is the only female cast away without a win in individual immunity challenge.

at camp, marlon causes some trouble by saying to cris that zita was angry at jc because he did not choose her for the reward after promising it to her. but when cris confronted zita and she denied it. the naak tribe knew that it was the best time to eliminate vern since she is a strong competitor in challenges. the jarakay voted for rob since he has an extra vote because of the black pearl.

after her elimination, veronice gave the black pearl to another ex-jarakay member, charisse.

survivor philippines: jc wins 2nd individual reward challenge

this week's individual reward challenge is the same challenge used as the reward challenge in episode 12 of survivor micronesia. in this challenge, each of the castaways needs to answer a survey in private. their answers would then be collected and tallied. the questions will again be read one by one and the castaways needs to guess what the answer of the majority is. everytime the castaway answers correctly, he gets a chance to cut a rope that connects to another castaway's effigy. each castaway has 3 ropes, when all of them is cut, the effigy would fall into a fire pit and that castaway is out. the last castaway with the effigy intact is the winner.

the first question was sino sa mga survivors and may sama ka ng loob? the correct answer was marlon and jc. all of them except vern got it correctly. cris, kaye and zita all cut marlon's ropes, sending him out of the challenge. charisse chose rob while rob and jc cut charisse's ropes.

the second question was sinong castaway ang nasa loob ang kulo? the correct answer was rob. only charisse, rob and vern got this correctly. charisse targeted cris' effigy, then rob cut charisse's last rop. charisse was the 2nd person eliminated. vern then cut rob's first rope.

the third question was sino sa mga castaways ang nagpapanggap na walang alam sa larong survivor? the majority answered cris and zita. all of them got this correctly. cris, kaye and zita all went for vern's ropes, lesading to her elimination. rob cut kaye's rope and jc went for cris.

the next question was sino sa mga castaways ang walang silbi sa camp? the majority choice was kaye. only cris and jc got this correct. both of them went for kaye's rope and she was eliminated. the next question was sino sa mga castaways ang pinakamabaho? and majority answered marlon and vern. cris cut zita's first rope. zita returned the favor and eliminated cris. jc then cut rob's last rope and eliminated him.

only 2 castaways are left, zita and jc. zita has 2 ropes remaining while jc has all 3 of them still in place. the next question was sino sa mga castaways ang walang chance manalo sa survivor? both of them answered marlon and that is the correct answer. each of them cut each other's ropes.

the next question was sino sa mga castaways ang pinagkakatiwalaan mo? zita answered kaye and jc answered zita. the majority answered zita and jc cuts the last rope of zita. jc wins reward!

the reward was a scroll that would be kept tied until he is given the signal to do so. they were then tasked to cook dinner with maggi magic sarap. they were given pork, fish, chicken and vegtables that they would bring back to camp. they need to cook all of them but they are not allowed to taste the food while they were cooking. they opted to cook nilaga, adobo, grilled fish and liempo and vegetables.

after they were ready, paolo arrived at their camp and asked jc to open the scroll. the reward was to choose 3 castaways and get all the food that they cooked and transfer to another island where they will stay. jc chose kaye, cris and rob. leaving zita with the ex-jarakay castaways.

survivor philippines: why kiko lost

kiko rustia has been a very strong contender since the start of the first season of survivor philippines. he is strong both physically and mentally. he has a strong alliance with jc and rob and their former tribe, naak has the numbers adv antage going into the merge. looks like everything is going his way until day 24 where he was voted out with a 5 - 4 vote in the tribal council, the biggest blindside in the game so far.

so why did kiko lose the game?

first, kiko is a big physical threat. he is one of the strongest boys left in the competition. he definitely has an advantage if the next challenges would be physical. it would definitely be wise if you vote out a physical threat the first time you have an opportunity to do so. this is the same reason why jace was voted out last week, the remaining naak members sees him as the threat.

second, aside from being a physical threat, he leads naak in strategy. he is the one that dictates who they would vote next. if you were a jarakay member, you would definitely want the leader of the leading alliance to be eliminated to cause some chaos in camp. it would definitely lead to confusion on the alliance. kiko was viewed as naak's leader, and this was confirmed with what kaye and cris told the three remaining jarakay members.

third, jc made the wrong choices at the reward challenge. he chose rob, kiko and zita to the immersion. he left kaye and cris with ex-jarakays at camp, giving them an opportunity to talk about strategies. rob, cris, jc and zita has proven their loyalty to naak; and i think it is clear that kaye and cris has the greatest tendency to switch. leaving them with marlon, who is a great strategist would definitely pave the way for them to switch to the other side, which happened.

fourth, he trusted his alliance so much that he became too complacent. when the 4 ex-naak castaways returned from the immersion reward, they did not ask kaye nor cris about what happened when they were away. they just assumed that they are loyal based on the actions that they shown when they arrived. we all know that marlon is a game player, and he would do anything to stay; they should have checked with kaye and cris that they were really loyal to the alliance.

if i were to choose the main reason on why he was voted out, i think the main reason was jc's poor choice in the reward challenge. i think if he chose marlon to go with him, this would not have happened. and him being the leader of naak made him the best target to be the one to be voted off among the 6 naak members who made it to the merge.
