survivor philippines castaway kiko rustia will be hosting born to be wild, a late night adventure shown every thursday night at gma 7. he will be replacing romi garduce, the first filipino to climb the summit of mt. everest.

kiko became popular after finishing 9th in the maiden season of survivor philippines. he became the unofficial leader of the naak tribe but was blindsided on the 8th tribal council. many fans reacted on his elimination since he was considered as one of the favorites to win the reality show during the early stages of the game. after the show, this restaurant owner and single father guested in several shows in gma 7. this will be his first regular assignment.

on his first episode on march 25, he will explore the caves in the northern part of the philippines while doc ferds will explore bears found in ho chi minh city in vietnam and the market of bear bile in manila.

survivor philippines: kaye and marlon in showbiz central, kiko and nikki in all star k

it was survivor cast off galore again in gma 7 last sunday.

the two latest cast offs, marlon carmen and kaye alipio first guested in gma 7's showbiz talkshow, showbiz central. kaye confirmed that she had already talked with kiko regarding the incidence where they decided to vote against him. they are okay now. marlon, on the other hand, answered the issue on his detractors. he said that he is not bothered by them, because if they don't like him, he also does not like them. kaye was also asked on what she thinks of marlon, she quickly answered that marlon is really the opposite of what we saw on tv. she also revealed that among the cast aways, marlon is the only one that she trusts and he is the only one that knows her secrets.

in primetime, castoffs nikki and kiko joined in all star k! the one million peso videoke challenge. for their bonifacio day episode, they featured contestants who are tagged as palaban which includes inspector corpus of the lie detector test in showbiz central, dj mo twister, carlene aguilar, gay activist dan and starstruck alumni rhea nakpil. kiko lasted until the fourth round and nikki was the last one eliminated. carlene aguilar went on to win the episode. other castoffs that has joined the show was chev, gigit, nina and patani.

six cast offs from survivor philippines played in the latest episode of tok! tok! tok! isang milyon pasok! which is also hosted by survivor philippines host paolo bediones. the blue team is composed of jury members jace & vern, yellow team was made up of cast offs kiko & patani and the red team is composed of john & nikki. they are also playing for their respective charities.

kiko answered the first 3 questions and patani successfully executed the first two challenges, the snapping turtle challenge and the cobra challenge. they challenged john and nikki in the third task, which is to lift a sumo player 6 feet above the ground. nikki & john failed to complete the task.

john answered the next question correctly and all teams bid on how fast they can finish a meal composed of rats and frogs. vern & jace won the bidding, they need to finish the meal at 1minute and 45 seconds. they were able to finish it just in time. kiko then answered the next question and they eventually reached the finish line and advanced to the jackpot round.

jace & vern won 10 thousand pesos for their charities while john & nikki failed to win anything.

kiko & patani played in the jackpot round and chose the door marked with a star. they were able to double their initial money of 40 thousand pesos. their charity won 80 thousand pesos and a computer set.

in another show, cast offs nina and chev guested in all star k, the 1 million pesos videoke challenge. in a episode where the contestants are look a likes, nina is paired with sexbomb mia and chev was paired with sexbomb izzy. both failed to win the contest. chev was eliminated in round 2 and nina was eliminated on the next round.

survivor philippines: vern is dating fellow castaway, kiko has a 9-year old child

after being eliminated and becoming jury members, cast offs kiko rustia and veronica domingo guested in showbiz central last sunday. kiko cleared the issue on why he gave the black pearl to rob. he said that he really thought that rob voted against him and he apologized for it. vern, on the other hand, was asked on what happened in the last reward challenge. she was voted as the stinkiest survivor. she said that it is due to the weeks of no shower in the island. naak members won a shower reward so i think its clear that they smell better than the ex-jarakay members.

they then chose between killer task and killer question. both of them chose killer question. for kiko, he was asked if it was true that he already has a child. he confirmed the news that he already has a 9-year old son and if he would date any woman, it is a requirement that they should love his child too. for vern, she was asked if it is true that she is dating another cast away. she also confirmed the news but divulged that it is not jace. kiko also said that it was not him. she also said that she still cannot say who he is. i think he is still in the game that is why she cannot say who it is. my instinct is that this it is jc that she is refering to.

here is a partial transcript of the live chat that happened yesterday with survivor philippines jury members jace flores and kiko rustia. the live chat started late. it started at about 3pm versus the scheduled 2pm due to some technical difficulties. but the long wait was worth it since among the live chats so far, kiko and jace answered the most questions. this is a partial transcript only since i had to rush to a meeting at 4pm and went back at 6pm, only to find out that the chat was still on going.

both of them answered 3 of my questions each, but some of the more juicy questions were left unanswered. i also did not get a chance to participate in the live chat with both of them answering at the same time since i have to go home already. based on their answers, both of them are really nice persons. jace is more straightforward and he seems to less formal. kiko on the otherhand seems to be more uptight and is not answering the questions fully. but this is the best live chat so far.

survivor philippines: why kiko lost

kiko rustia has been a very strong contender since the start of the first season of survivor philippines. he is strong both physically and mentally. he has a strong alliance with jc and rob and their former tribe, naak has the numbers adv antage going into the merge. looks like everything is going his way until day 24 where he was voted out with a 5 - 4 vote in the tribal council, the biggest blindside in the game so far.

so why did kiko lose the game?

first, kiko is a big physical threat. he is one of the strongest boys left in the competition. he definitely has an advantage if the next challenges would be physical. it would definitely be wise if you vote out a physical threat the first time you have an opportunity to do so. this is the same reason why jace was voted out last week, the remaining naak members sees him as the threat.

second, aside from being a physical threat, he leads naak in strategy. he is the one that dictates who they would vote next. if you were a jarakay member, you would definitely want the leader of the leading alliance to be eliminated to cause some chaos in camp. it would definitely lead to confusion on the alliance. kiko was viewed as naak's leader, and this was confirmed with what kaye and cris told the three remaining jarakay members.

third, jc made the wrong choices at the reward challenge. he chose rob, kiko and zita to the immersion. he left kaye and cris with ex-jarakays at camp, giving them an opportunity to talk about strategies. rob, cris, jc and zita has proven their loyalty to naak; and i think it is clear that kaye and cris has the greatest tendency to switch. leaving them with marlon, who is a great strategist would definitely pave the way for them to switch to the other side, which happened.

fourth, he trusted his alliance so much that he became too complacent. when the 4 ex-naak castaways returned from the immersion reward, they did not ask kaye nor cris about what happened when they were away. they just assumed that they are loyal based on the actions that they shown when they arrived. we all know that marlon is a game player, and he would do anything to stay; they should have checked with kaye and cris that they were really loyal to the alliance.

if i were to choose the main reason on why he was voted out, i think the main reason was jc's poor choice in the reward challenge. i think if he chose marlon to go with him, this would not have happened. and him being the leader of naak made him the best target to be the one to be voted off among the 6 naak members who made it to the merge.

survivor philippines: kiko rustia eliminated, naak alliance smashed

in an unexpected turn of events, kiko rustia became the second member of the jury in survivor philippines. kiko was eliminated after a 5-4 split vote in the tribal council, 5 votes going to him and the other 4 votes going to marlon, who was celebrating his birthday at the time of the tribal council.

a twist was also revealed after kiko was voted out. a black pearl which supposed to be carries a curse was given to kiko. he has to pass the pearl to another person who is formerly a tribe mate. this tribe mate would get an additional 1 vote on the next tribal council. kiko did not think twice and gave it to rob. his main reason was his attitude during the immunity challenge and his attitude at camp.

the vote came as a surprise to four former naak members, namely kiko, rob, jc and zita. during their immersion after the reward challenge, kaye and cris was left alone with the former jarakay members. they were convinced by the jarakay members that they would be the first to go when only the 6 of them are left. after sometime, they agreed to vote out kiko to save their place in the tribe.

with the old naak alliance now broken, it is exciting to see how the tribe dynamics will change. will marlon continue to control the game or will naak put their differences behind and move forward again together?

survivor philippines: episode 32 - scheming and beer drinking

some observations on episode 32 of survivor philippines:

> marlon is making a move to impress naak and make them not vote for him. this is a good move for him. being in a new environment. you must first observe and adjust to the dynamics of the new group. but he is maintaining his alliance with the former jarakay members, which he also needs to stay in the game.

> marlon is not the only one slowing down. charisse was not shown strategizing at all. hmmm... good thinking... but she needs to go back to playing the game since they have the disadvantage in numbers and marlon can drop her any time.

> jace is definitely stepping up his game. he is the one planning for jarakay. he ultimately believes that jc is on his side. he trusts him too much. since naak is seeing him planning and scheming for jarakay, he puts himself very vulnerable to the vote. he is not only a physical threat but also a game threat.

> naak seems to be sticking together... all of them are telling each other what jarakay is telling them. but this game has only 1 winner, 6 persons cannot win the game. hope some of them realizes this. until when will they stick together?

> jc is pissed off that jace thinks that jarakay can get him. he must be flattered that jace is trusting him too much. he is also telling naak what jace has told him. hmmm... jc is blindsiding jace, he is now playing the game to his advantage. but he must remember that the ones he is dealing with right now are the same persons that would determine the sole survivor. his betrayal may lose his 4 votes, if all jarakay members will be voted off.

> jace's proposed vote order: kiko, rob, cris, zita, kaye... this would not happen for sure.

> marlon got drunk, he just screwed up all the things that he did the whole day to impress naak. back to square one.

> cris shown the emotional side of him. crying over the bonfire with beer in his hand. he misses his family. hmmm... zita is not the only one trying to win the sympathy votes.

> kaye is making some realization that jarakay needs someone to jump ship to their side... is she thinking of abandoning naak?

> jace wants the jarakay alliance to be a secret. huh? isn't it common sense that they have an alliance and hasn;'t he told jc so much about the alliance?
