But the story doesn't end there because one morning Esperia, suspicious of Enrico's behaviour, returns home unexpectedly and surprises him in an embrace with her decrepit mother.

Lello and Grazia have just got married and head off on honeymoon to Venice. Lello, a door-to-door salesman from Romagna, has a reputation as a real womanizer in town. But when he goes to bed with Grazia he simply can't rise to the occasion; moreover, he confesses to his wife that he has had problems performing on many occasions. After a few unsuccessful attempts at making love, it finally clicks with Grazia that Lello's virility requires a means of transport, and at last they succeed in consuming their marriage... in a lift.
